Safety permeates everything we do and is part of our culture here at In-Place Machining Company. IPM is a safe, secure, and healthy workplace. Our Safety Program consists of many aspects be it training programs, certifications, routine meetings, safe equipment technology, and more. Working safely protects employees, equipment, customers, customer assets, and vendors. There is no greater priority than to Think Safety and Work Safely.
 

In-Place Machining Company’s Safety Programs & Credentials

Below is our extensive but not exhaustive list of safety training programs which we utilize for a wide array of locations and applications. While not all of our techs have each of these certifications, we have experience with all of these programs. All techs possess the field machining industry’s core safety training requirements. Plus, many of them also have certifications in specialty training including, but not limited to, the below list. Moreover, we continuously invest in new specialty training needed on a per job basis. IPM has its own Verified NANTeL Proctor allowing employees to complete training in advance, affording significant savings. NANTeL is a nationwide system that can deliver nuclear power plant training courses to any computer with internet access.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) training programs work to prevent death, illness, and injury from mining and promote safe and healthful workplaces.

OSHA 10 Hour – General Industry

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Outreach Training Program for General Industry provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in general industry. The 10-hour class is intended to provide workers with awareness of common job-related safety and health hazards.
 

OSHA 30 Hour – General Industry

The OSHA 30 Hour – General Industry class is utilized for our supervisors and higher level workers with increased responsibilities.
 

OSHA 10 Hour – Maritime

The OSHA Outreach Training Program for the Maritime Industry provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in the maritime industry.
 

OSHA 10 Hour – Construction

The OSHA 10 Hour Outreach Training Program for the Construction Industry provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in the construction industry. The 10-hour class is intended to provide workers with awareness of common job-related safety and health hazards.
 

OSHA 30 Hour – Construction

The OSHA 30 Hour – Construction class is utilized for our supervisors and higher level workers with increased responsibilities.
 

Fall Protection

Fall Protection training is provided in-shop at IPM to all relevant employees.
 

Confined Space Entry

Confined Space Entry training is provided in-shop at IPM to all relevant employees.
 

Aerial Lift Training

Aerial Lifts, Boom, Scissors and Elevated Work Platforms Operator Safety Training.

All employees have training accredited by the American Red Cross to respond appropriately to emergencies. All IPM employees receive routine refreshers.

LG&E and KU Passport Safety Trainer

IPM bears the distinction of having its own Certified LG&E and KU Passport Safety Trainer. All industrial workers employed by a certified contractor who will be working in or around LG&E and KU facilities must complete LG&E/KU’s Passport Safety Training Program on an annual basis. This program is designed to enlighten workers on the importance of safety and the hazards associated with working in power plant environments.
