We are committed to doing the right thing in all that we do – the services we provide our customers, how we hire, treat, train, and encourage our employees, and how we help support the health and welfare of the people around us.

We will be sharing updates on our initiatives over the coming months. In the meantime, please check out the following from 2023 that speak to our ongoing commitment to doing the right thing – every single day.

IPM Selects Office Furniture Resources (OFR) to Furnish Corporate Office Expansion

When IPM expanded the workspace at our Milwaukee, WI, headquarters to incorporate our team from Exact Metrology: A Division of In-Place Machining Company into our 3811 N. Holton Street location, we selected OFR to furnish the new second floor office space.

OFR, headquartered in Milwaukee, WI, is a leader in office furniture solutions in the Midwest. A full-service woman owned business, OFR provides quality new, used, and refurbished office furniture. Their ReThink decommission team works across the country with the repurposing goal to greatly reduce the use of landfill when companies leave an office space. The OFR ReThink process uses their wholesale network, charitable donations partner, and retail stores to repurpose more than 1,500 trailer loads of furniture each year.

The selection by IPM to purchase reused and refurbished cubicles, desk chairs, training tables, and stacking chairs for the newly expanded work area diverted and estimated 10,925 lbs of waste from landfill. The total rate of landfill diversion by percentage reused vs new materials of their purchase was 83%.  Reusing office furniture, whether in original condition or refurbished, reduces landfill use, energy use, resource use, and carbon emissions.

In-Place Machining Company Streamlines Operations with Newly Expanded Blue Ash, OH Facility

Consolidation of IPM, Exact Metrology, and OASIS Alignment Services in single location strengthens synergy of divisions for enhanced service to aerospace,
power generation, heavy manufacturing and other industries

June 5, 2023 | Milwaukee, WI – In-Place Machining Company (IPM) is pleased to announce the addition of Exact Metrology at the company’s newly expanded IPM Ohio industrial facility, located at 6665 Creek Road in Blue Ash, Ohio. Centralizing the Ohio divisions of IPM, OASIS Alignment Services, and Exact Metrology will allow for improved collaboration and a more integrated approach to industrial solutions in this key region.

Speaking from IPM corporate headquarters in Milwaukee, WI, IPM President & CEO Dean Flint said, “We see this move as a classic case of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts.”
Flint went on to explain the synergy of having three prominent suppliers to industry in the Ohio area. “In IPM, we have a leading force in precision industrial machining services plus large-scale wire cutting and drilling. Coupled with the machine alignment expertise of OASIS Alignment Services and the dimensional metrology and onsite scanning capabilities of Exact Metrology, we can now provide faster assessments on potential projects, situation analyses, service execution, and 3D measurement data capture solutions.”

“This unified team will represent a formidable partner to our existing and potential customers in the region,” Flint continued, noting the collaboration of the three companies at one location will enhance customer service, while utilizing shared resources and staff capabilities.

The move is part of a long-term growth strategy at IPM to expand industrial service offerings from single integrated sources and enhance its regional strengths across the U.S. and Canada. To that end, IPM has created two divisions with multiple service locations across North America – the IPM Machining Services group consisting of IPM and newly acquired Western Machine Works, LLC, and the IPM Measurement & Alignment Services group of Exact Metrology, OASIS Alignment Services, and ECM: Global Measurement Solutions. As Flint notes, “Being a ‘local’ company has significant benefits beyond the operational strengths of the partners.”
